FARMING IN AFRICA: Pioneering Livestock Transformation Across the Continent

Farming in Africa (FIA) stands as a beacon of innovation in the realm of livestock farming across the continent. With a steadfast commitment to revolutionizing traditional practices, we collaborate with over 30,000 livestock farmers, igniting fresh perspectives and empowering the youth. Rooted in integrity, resilience, and teamwork, FIA is dedicated to ushering Africa's livestock industry into a new era of prosperity and sustainability.

Our Journey

Our journey commenced in 2018 with a humble cattle farm in Berekum Senase, Ghana, supplying protein to the Semanhyia American School. Evolving swiftly, we diversified into poultry farming, managing over 10,000 birds with precision. Venturing further, we embraced goat farming, establishing the esteemed Semanhyia Learning and Development Farm, now home to over 250 goats. This facility has become a hub of agricultural wisdom, attracting enthusiasts and stakeholders eager to partake in the art of livestock husbandry.

Expanding Horizons:

Driven by our vision to elevate livestock farming in Ghana and beyond, we sourced superior genetic breeds from South Africa, importing over 500 exotic livestock. Our influence extends beyond borders, reaching Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea. Renowned as a trusted source of exotic breeds, we leverage our social media platforms, notably our YouTube channel, Farming In Africa, to disseminate free education on livestock farming, fostering a community of informed and inspired farmers.

Meet Fred (CEO)

BIOGRAPHY OF FRED

Fredrick Benneh Frimpong, the visionary farmer, hustler, and serial entrepreneur, is the CEO and Founder of Farming In Africa. His mission is clear: to empower farmers through education and sustainable agriculture.

Fredrick's story begins in Ghana. Born in the bustling capital of Accra, fate took him to the humble village of Senase at a young age. Raised by a farmer alongside 13 siblings, he experienced the harsh realities of poverty firsthand. Despite these challenges, his mother recognized his potential.  In a selfless act, she sold their farm to ensure Fred could access education beyond elementary school.

University seemed like a distant dream after high school. Yet, Fred refused to be deterred. He embraced his entrepreneurial spirit, taking to the streets to sell goods.  Driven by a desire to showcase African culture and uplift his community, Fred connected with Semester At Sea, a student program visiting Ghana.  His relentless dedication led him to become a certified tour guide, and he established Can Do Land Tours. Through obstacles and setbacks, Fred's indomitable spirit prevailed. The support of remarkable individuals like Barbara and Mike further propelled him forward, sponsoring his education in London and San Diego.

Fred's passion for education extended beyond himself. While studying in California, he founded "The Godfred's Foundation," transforming lives by providing quality education in rural Ghana. He fulfilled this mission by establishing an international school called Semanhyia American School, which is located at Berekum Senase in the Bono region of Ghana where he grew up. The school currently has a population of almost 700 students who are receiving quality education.

His entrepreneurial prowess also came to light when he spearheaded Uber Ghana's launch and operations, contributing to the country's rapid growth from scratch. However, Fred's heart always belonged to education and agriculture. As his school flourished, a school farm was established to nourish young minds with healthy food. This initiative sparked the genesis of "Farming In Africa," which evolved into "Semanhyia Farms," a pioneering livestock learning and development farm. Today, through FIA AgroVentures, FIAKare, and Semanhyia L & D Farm, Fred empowers both commercial and smallholder farmers with essential resources and knowledge.  His vision extends beyond immediate benefits. He is currently living the dream of mentoring countless farmers and cultivating a new generation of agricultural pioneers through his school.

Fred's journey is a testament to resilience, determination, and unwavering passion. He remains an unstoppable force, fueling positive change and leaving an indelible mark on the lives of others.  Embrace the spirit of possibility and join Fred on his transformative mission to create a brighter future for all. Together, you can sow the seeds of prosperity and watch them bloom into a flourishing tomorrow.
